3 Easy Recipes You Can Make for Yourself Post-Breakup

Cooking for one. It can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be. A breakup is daunting enough. To avoid any stress over what to eat, we've picked two of our favorite one pot meals and one snack that you can easily make this weekend. We aren’t the greatest of chefs at Mend HQ, but even we found these recipes easy to do and we loved the minimal clean up.

Besides being easy to make, these meals are nutritious and will help you feel better. Even though nutrition is probably the thing furthest from your mind as you order lunch or sift through your pantry, it’s something you should think about prioritizing because research shows that healthy eating helps stabilize your mood during stressful events.

As Barbara Mendez, a nutritionist, described in a recent Huffington Post article, “Eating in a healthy way can help you feel more steady, more balanced, which in turn can help you recover faster,” Mendez said. “Eating things like sweet potatoes, nuts and seeds, Omega-3-rich fish such as salmon or tuna and nutritious greens will help steady the mind, help you think clearly and help to reduce the effects of the stress hormones released in difficult times.”
