A Day of Mending in Venice: #mendpopup

We hosted our first ever #mendpopup in our hometown of sunny Venice Beach. The day was something we had dreamed about for a long time, and it was also an idea that came from you, our Menders!

We envisioned an afternoon where we could meet you IRL, get inspired and take care of ourselves, whether we were heartbroken or whole hearted. We handpicked over two dozen amazing brands and startups (most of them local to Los Angeles and female founded) to help us bring our day of mending to life, and it could not have been more fun.

We loved meeting you and hearing your stories of how you found Mend, and we can't wait to pop up again...maybe in a different city this time. We've already heard requests to come to San Francisco, New York and even London!

A few highlights from the day...

Mendpopup Attendees

Our founder Ellen Huerta kicked off the day, alongside meditation teacher + #howimend interviewee Megan Monahan, who led guided meditations and visualizations.

Patricia Echeverria, founder of Experiment on Purpose + #howimend intervieweeled Menders through an eye-opening self love + intimacy workshop with mirrors.

Attendees broke out their journals with #howimend interviewee Mirtha Michelle, who shared candidly about her heartbreak and how it led her to write her popular book, Letters to the Men I Have Loved.

The massage therapists from Soothe helped Menders relax + reconnect with themselves.

Local + Lejos brought their beautiful, handmade home goods to inspire Menders who were redecorating post-breakup.

PRIV was a favorite of the day because of their beauty bar, where they offered makeup touch-ups and hair braiding.

Ivka Adam and the Iconery team showed off pieces from their stunning jewelry line, which just launched online!

Eve Peters, founder of our new favorite dating app, Whim, came out to sign up some locals for their Los Angeles beta!

Bella Acton of Never Liked It Anyway, the go-to site to sell your ex's things, came with Bounce Back Boxes to get Menders back on their feet.

Nail Snaps joined us to demo their magical app, which turns your own photos into custom nail wraps.

MyIntent helped Menders set intentions and made custom bracelets for everyone who came.

Layla Lane braved the August heat to play a set and swept us off our feet with their perfect Beatles covers and originals.

Congratulations to our raffle winners who won the Venice Set from Parachute Home, two monthly memberships to Yogaworks and a necklace from Cross Street Jewelry!

And a special thanks to the brands who supported us with delicious snacks, water and free gifts for Menders: Follow Your Heart, Popcornopolis, Boxed Water, Zen Bakery, Rise Bar, MyTable and Sustain
